Personalized Ashtanga Yoga practice with one-on-one guidance in a quiet group setting.
Discover a traditional and deeply personal approach to yoga with Mysore-style Ashtanga at Ekam Yoga Studio in Phoenix.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking to deepen your practice, this self-paced method adapts to your level and supports your growth over time.
Rather than following a group-led class, you’ll move through a set sequence of postures at your own rhythm, receiving individualized guidance from an experienced teacher. It’s a powerful way to build consistency, focus, strength, and flexibility — all in a space that’s supportive and welcoming.
Rooted in the lineage of traditional Ashtanga Yoga, Ekam Yoga Studio offers a calm and inclusive environment in central Phoenix where you can learn, evolve, and reconnect — one breath at a time.

IS MYSORE YOGA ONLY FOR ADVANCED PRACTITIONERS?
Absolutely not. Mysore is the best way to start Ashtanga Yoga.
If you’re a beginner, we’ll teach you the sequence little by little. You don’t need to know anything in advance. You’ll receive one-on-one instruction in a calm, supportive environment — and quickly feel comfortable moving on your own.
Already experienced? Mysore is also the ideal way to go deeper, refine your alignment, and explore the full potential of the practice.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know the Ashtanga sequence to start Mysore-style yoga?
Not at all! Mysore-style Ashtanga Yoga is ideal for beginners. You’ll learn the sequence step by step with one-on-one support. Each class is adapted to your level — no prior experience needed.
What’s the difference between a Mysore class and a regular yoga class?
In a Mysore-style class, students practice at their own pace, while the teacher provides personalized guidance. It's a personalized experience, at their own pace, and rooted in tradition. Unlike group classes, instruction is group-based.
Do I have to stay for the whole class time?
No — practice time is flexible. Mysore classes run during an open window (6:30–9:00 AM and 4:30 - 6:30 PM), and your session usually lasts 40–90 minutes depending on your level and pace.
Can I Practice Mysore Yoga Once a Week
We encourage a regular Mysore practice, as consistency is key for progress. Attending 2–6 times a week helps you build strength and familiarity with the sequence.
If you can only come once in a while, we recommend exploring our Ashtanga Foundation, Flow, Hatha or Yin classes, which are more flexible for occasional practice.
